ROCHESTER - Medway Campus

SUMMER 2023

THE CITY

Rochester is a quaint medieval town in the county of Kent. It is located by the sea, less than an hour from London, and is best known for its museum dedicated entirely to Charles Dickens. Less than a 10-minute walk from the college is the marina, which is full of seaside shops and restaurants. In addition, a 15-minute bus ride away is the beautiful historical town centre of Rochester, famous throughout the UK for its Gothic cathedral.

STUDY FACILITIES

Courses will be held at the Medway Campus, which is part of the University of Greenwich. The college is located on a small hill just outside the town centre, completely enclosed and only accessible through a single gate that is under 24-hour security surveillance. The historic college facilities have been completely renovated inside, while retaining its charm outside.

The college has a large gym and playgrounds where the following sports activities can be carried out: It also has coin-operated laundries located within the accommodation complex itself.

THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE COURSE

The 15-hour per week English language course will be taught by British Council certified teachers.

10 hours of soft skills are included in the lessons, which count towards the PCTO programme, specially designed for school groups from Italy and follows our tailored programme that completes the number of study/work hours that can be used to complete the two hundred hours required by the PCTO scheme.

All students will undergo an entrance test on arrival to establish the level of their knowledge of the language and be placed in the appropriate class. A certificate recognised by the British Council will be awarded to each student at the end of the study holiday.

Students will be housed in flats consisting of 4/6 single rooms with en-suite bathroom facilities. Moreover, each flat has its own common area and kitchen.
